FEMA: Online Individual Assistance Centers

On Tuesday, August 23, 2005, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) released this information on online Individual Assistance Centers:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has developed an online Individual Assistance Center (IAC) to allow those who have registered for disaster assistance to look at their cases on the Internet.

What You Can Access Via the IAC

  1. Eligibility status by category
  2. Amount of eligible assistance and when it was paid (if applicable)
  3. Applicant's addresses and phone numbers currently on file
  4. Insurance information provided by the applicant
  5. Information requested from the applicant by FEMA
  6. A listing of written correspondence between the applicant and FEMA
  7. Referrals to other federal/state/voluntary agencies for assistance
  8. The status of any inspections conducted by FEMA


What You Can't Access via the IAC

  1. A copy of their completed disaster application
  2. Viewable copies of written correspondence between the applicant and FEMA
  3. Detailed inspection results/information
